Effective August 1, 2026

Promptus uses only the context needed to provide live, relevant prompting. The browser extension supports that one experience by understanding the active page and placing the floating prompter near your camera.

What the extension processes

After you explicitly allow website access, the extension can process the active page's visible text, title, domain and path, language, headings, accessible controls and statuses, selection, focused control, and a change fingerprint. It also uses active-display bounds locally to position the prompter; those bounds are not stored or transmitted. A page is observed only while a Promptus live session is open and connected.

What it does not read

Promptus excludes passwords, form-field values, hidden content, cookies, browser history, query strings and URL fragments, page source, browser console, and network traffic.

How context is used

Structured page context is transmitted securely to the Promptus service and processed through the Lovable AI Gateway only to understand the current session and generate relevant suggestions. Raw page snapshots are used ephemerally. Promptus may save a short distilled learning in your session memory so later suggestions can use what the session learned.

Optional camera timing

If you enable the camera, face and mouth movement are analyzed in your browser to improve speaker timing and prompter placement. Video frames are not uploaded or stored, and camera analysis does not change the content of suggestions.

Storage and deletion

Session details, context you add, transcripts, suggestions, and distilled learnings can be stored in your Promptus account. Deleting a session deletes its associated session data. Turning off the extension or uninstalling it stops future page context collection.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

Promptus uses and transfers extension data only to provide or improve its single user-facing prompting purpose, for security, or when legally required. It does not sell this data, use it for advertising or credit decisions, or allow humans to read it except with your specific support consent, for security, or when legally required.

Your control

Use the Promptus toolbar icon to allow or revoke page access at any time. You can also change site access in Chrome's extension settings, uninstall the extension, or delete a Promptus session from the Sessions page.
